The ratio of bids to cost is a little off-kilter, and a few bids per bid on an item = .01 increase in price. This however does NOT mean it's a scam... There are plenty of other penny-auction sites out there that do the exact same thing Beezid does, the same way that Beezid operates too. I would recommend this site for anyone that loves auctions and isn't afraid to put a little money into it. To those calling it a scam and those curious about a site like this, I'd recommend you read the "How Beezid(tm) Works" section of the help page before making assumptions and figure it out for yourself.

Upon testing this site out, the only way for you to win a bid is by spending huge amounts of money on buying more bids. I have received calls directly from them asking me to spend $1,000 on their biggest bid package, but getting more than what the package offers. He also told me that once I have so much bids I can easily have a guaranteed win, and at the same time have an option to keep the stuff I win or just re-sell it on their website. So the guy pretty much is telling me take advantage of other people while I might be the few of the people that got offered the discounted package to buy the bids. Besides all that crooked business model, you will end up having to invest more money buying bids and get less or nothing in return. I advise everyone to stay away and don't play a part in their business.

The website itself is not unsafe. It seems that the only people having any issues with beezid.com are the ones who pretty much start the bidding. Just make sure to read and watch everything carefully. Be wise with your bids. I'm sure beezid.com is making a lot of money, but they're also giving bid winners wonderful discounts. I'm sure the officials saying to stay away from sites like this were saying so because consumers were acting in an uneducated manner and treating the bid button as if it were a slot machine and the people behind most penny-auction sites took advantage. Beezid.com's commercial claims to be trusted. I don't really know if this has any significance, considering all the things allowed on TV today, but it seems as though they wouldn't be allowed to make that statement if they didn't live up to it.

Good experience and good products. Thanks

You buy bids for a dollar, but when you bid on an item that dollar bid only raises price on the item by a penny?? SCAM. That means, if you see an item for $10.00, it really should say $1000.00 because that is the amount of money people have bid on the item. That is how much Beezid is pocketing at that point. Bids should be dollar for dollar or penny for penny. I can't believe that sites like these aren't shut down. They are flowing in $ from naive people, they have $ to advertise and $ to pay employees who all they do is go around the web and defend the site. Even on WOT there are people who say they trust the site and call it a gambling site, or equate it to gambling. If that is what this site is, they need to disclose that is what they view themselves as, a gambling site.... I have seen tv ads that promise people that they will win their first auction. Um, how can any "win" in an auction be guaranteed unless fraud/manipulation is involved?? So, that very promise leads to the assumption that the rest of the auctions are also manipulated/rigged by the company so that people LOSE auctions.

Penny auctions in general are not the deals they advertise, however I can tell you that I have received the items I won on this site (6) with no problems. Just do a little research to know what you are getting into before giving them money. You might not like the business model or the marketing, but it's not a scam.

missleading, confusing, seems bidding can be unfair and shipping is extra

I have been ther. They make it seem so easy. You pay so much for bids and the cost if you actually win is way above what the ads explain to people.I think they make it sound like a really less expensive way to have fun and try to win something reallt cheap and to me it seems like nebr happening. In the end your paying alot more out of pocket than expected.Thank you

Thanks to Wot I was visiting this site until I told by Wot it was claimed unsafe by members of Wot. They have stopped me on other sites, and I appreciate the people who police bad webs sites.

Beezid is not clear on the cost of bids, and that scares me. Before I sign up for something I want to know the cost, and from what I can see on their site you have to sign up before you can see the different types of bid packs available. Not very up front, therefore I do not trust!

The cost of the bids are too high and they don't have a large selection of items to choose from. I have not been sucessful on the site, never won anything.

Authorities in New South Wales have warned consumers not to bid on items offered on so-called "penny auction" websites. The New South Wales Office of Fair Trading says the auctions invite consumers to place bids for products like cameras and jewellery, which are offered for sale with very low, or no, reserves. NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Philip Flogel says the offers are in fact non-refundable payments, which are collected even if the customer does not win the auction. He says the rogue trader can make money through these non-refundable fees, as well as by selling the offered item. "Sometimes they sell the product often at a much higher rate than what you would pay at a shop anyway," he said. Assistant Commissioner Flogel says most auctions are operated from overseas, which means Australian consumer protections do not apply. "Once you're online you're not protected by Australian consumer law," he said. "So if you look to buy a product and it doesn't work and all the rest of it, none of the protections which we have in Australia - which are very good - are available to you. "It's really outside of our jurisdiction, once the trader's overseas."

I hated this site. Not a true penny auction site. Would not recommend to anyone. Rated low in all relevant categories. Spam/Scam- I believe so.

I won three items on this sight and had to keep on them to get them. Shipping and handling expense is too high for a gift card. Sight is confusing and a waste of time and money. They called me promising that if I purchase a bid pack they would add 29000 bids. I did and they gave me 2900. When questioned the support person said oh I meant 2900 bids. Stay away!

"Penny Auctions" are being vilified by people who do NOT understand that this is gambling, pure and simple! When you walk in to a casino and hand over $100 for chips, or tokens, and then lose all of that in the slot machine, is it the casino's fault??! Did they "scam" you? NO, and these auctions are exactly the same! How can you say this is a "scam"?? Beezid is as good as these kinds of sites get, and it's on the bidder to take responsibility for their actions when, and if, they lose money.

This is another stupid penny auction scam where you have to pay to bid. They phish you out of your info, lying to you all the while that you'll get a good deal on something.
