Is Reputation.com Safe?

I have an account with them, not only is it pricey. You enter all this detailed information to suppress, however the process and the rating system the website uses is confusing. A rep contacts you if you have questions, but when you call back you get a voicemail, and not return call. You create this lengthy positive list of attributes, so their team will create positive profile links as primary if someone were to do a search. Not only do you have to renew your fee annually, but at each renewal you're asked to pay for additional positive profiles. Why is this required when I've spent all this time entering the requested information. Disappointed to say the least.

Very suspicious service which makes fake reviews for your business to clean up your bad reputation online, however they try to scam you into believing that your business has a bad reputation when it doesn't just to get your money. I have also receive spam emails from this company.

Affecting Google results? Deteriorating ranks of one's competitors? This sounds to me like classical pre-penguin black hat SEO that people used to do at home with their blinds shut. It's astonishing to me that some pagerank 7 site is doing it for a living, in the light of the day. On the other hand, what happens if a client's competitor becomes a client of this site at some point too? Learning to live with a conflict of interest on a regular basis?

When I did a google search of my name, I found all this personal information. I called these folks, and the man told me they could remove my name from searches for ***** I used my credit card and they asked for some personal information, then said it would take two weeks and I would see the results online. They sent me a confirmation and when I was able to check out my plan in more detail, I learned that I would have to pay a lot more money to get what was promised originally. I cancelled my subscription, but they had lots of information about me, and I can't change that. Right after that, I started getting junk mail in my inbox from companies I never contacted. Beware of this site!

This seems really suspicious, considering that companies are now allowed to require Online Background checks. Perhaps this company is a provider of background checks? You are basically giving them all the info they need to sell your "Reputation" to possible employers.
