"pocket") real estate deals which may keep sellers and buyers in the dark about current market values and other disclosures such as whether the agent is really acting according to clients' wishes. Risks: tracking and spam, fraud, identity theft. Do not provide any financial or personal data. While REO can be legitimate, there are serious red flags: collecting too much personal information over unsecured connections on thousands of template web sites (13,810 clone sites on just 3 IP addresses), a system of referrals and commissions which suggests a pyramid scheme, automated (robot) investing, and promotion via spam email (I received spam from one of these sites). The many of the sites (and the spam) solicit "SERIOUS Players Only", like an invitation to a get-rich-quick feeding frenzy. One site boasts, "I have discovered a way to secure an endless supply of cheap local houses for pennies on the dollar". Don't let them "play" with your money.
