This company owns mycleanpc.com, a rogue piece of software that does nothing for your computer and is designed to rob you of your money by using scare tactics. You'd be better off taking your computer to a competent IT company.

I downloaded one of their programs (MyCleanPC) and installed it on my computer. Yes, I was aware that it was a scam, I simply wanted to see its behavior on my computer. I am well aware of the risks involved with doing so, but I'm an expert who has been studying and researching malware and phishing scams for years. I knew what I was doing. I ran the installer (MyCleanPC.exe) through VirusTotal, an online service that scans a file with several different antivirus engines (http://www.virustotal.com/). Out of 47 antivirus engines, none of them detected it (for those who are curious, the most recent scan results at the time this comment was written can be found at ***** The URL was shortened due to length). As soon as the installation finished, it opened and I scanned my computer. It immediately came up with several results that I knew were fake, because I had another performance optimizer on my system that said nothing about the things that showed up on MyCleanPC. I don't believe this program is malicious, as no attempts were made to stop me from uninstalling it. I simply believe that it is a scam, not malware.

The CyberDefender family of brands includes MyCleanPC, MaxMySpeed, and ***** and they are the biggest SCAMS! Deceptive and immoral, cheat computer illiterate people out of their money! DON'T use cyberdefender software or services even if they are stated as FREE! Take your PC to someone or somewhere you trust!

Rouge AV. Keeps asking you to call an 800 Number to pay for full protection? What? My mother installed it on her computer, and even after attempting to uninstall when I told her it was a Fake AV, it's still there! Stay AWAY from this site. Period.

Cyberdefender is well-known to show false-positives to entice innocent users to purchase their barely-functional "anti-malware" software. We have personal experience in our repair shop with a brand-new clean installation of Windows being called out by Cyberdefender for being corrupt and infected. It's deceptive and scam-laden. Unfortunately, their radio and TV ads pull in a lot of suckers.

Safe and secure . . . however, the anti-malware product is somewhat unsatisfactory in reliability [like Stop-Sign AntiVirus by eAcceleration].

rogueware. If you look at the profiles of the people who rated it positively, they ALL have exactly five posts on every single site owned by ascentive. This means cyberdefender and all of their registry cleaners/hoaxes that tell you that your computers have hundreds of errors, then abuse a default option to trick users into believing that the only way to get the program to close is to click the "fix now" button, which promptly brings you to their website to give them your hard earned money. DO NOT USE THIS SOFTWARe, OR ANY OTHER SOFTWARE FROM ASCENTIVE.
