The 10 Best Password Management Tools for 2024

In 2022, hackers were able to expose more than 24 billion passwords according to TechReport. Along with the rising trends in cyber threats and data breaches, it is poor password management that characterizes most of them. The risks can be reduced to a very great extent by using the best password management tools, which not only store the passwords safely but also generate them. That holds the key to securing your online existence by not letting your personal information go into unwanted hands.

What are password managers?

These are tools that help in storing and managing your passwords and other sensitive information securely. They create strong, unique passwords for every individual account, which minimizes the chance of password theft. Usually, this is effected through encryption, where all a person’s accounts are accessed through one master password. This would not only increase security but also save the time that is usually taken up by the bother of making sure that a person does not forget their password.

An average user deals with many accounts for which it becomes nearly impossible to remember all of them by having different and complex passwords. Password managers deal with this task, assuring the use of strong and unique passwords for each site or service; therefore, the danger of breaking and identity theft drops significantly. It is helpful to store passwords and can hold highly sensitive information, such as credit card information and secure notes, effectively serving the purpose of digital security.

One Response

  1. Although I understand and believe in the logic of a 12 unit password this is often denied the user.
Oddly the major banks in New Zealand are among the worst offenders and some restrict users to 8 digits for passwords. They keep saying “we shall address this issue” but that statement has been going on for many years.
I use a password protected Excel spreadsheet to list my multiple passwords. I am “scared”`of Password Manger programmes as I have read of some being hacked.
    Regular password changes are critical
