I opened a Credit Karma account. I tried to access my money from Europe but the idiot from support says I can't access my account out of the US. That's fraud. They won't give me access to my money. They don't allow logging in via a VPN> Avoid these thieves like the plague.

The entire purpose of Credit Karma is to be a marketing company that collects and shares our data for the exclusive purpose of targeting spam. TONS of spam. You're going to get emails. CK will make it hard to know which ones to turn off for supposed credit monitoring, and which things actually will end the twice or more daily spam messages from them. It's a predatory company that's a proxy for sending spam to you through social media platforms.

Sites advertising to tell you your credit score (regardless of the quality of their advertisements) cannot be trusted. It is an easy way to get your credit card, bank account or worse, your identity stolen. Not even reviews online can be trusted because you don't know who's telling the truth or not. If you want to know your credit score, go to your bank - do not give out your credit card information, no matter how trustworthy any company may seem.

I have been using credit report services for many years, and I have never had such ease. Never had to give my full SS number. My grandfather on the other hand shares his name with my brother and father so when we tried to access his report we had to use his full SS and we were locked out and they asked for mailed verification. This has happened to him with other sites. This makes me fell safe they will not just give out info without proper verification when there is a question.

I use creditkarma to monitor my credit score for free. I get an updated score on a regular basis and the summary and explanations as to why my score went up or down. However, if you need a complete credit report, you will be directed to credit reporting companies that may give free trial. but if you forget to cancel within seven days, expect charges on your credit card.

Darthur35, This site is far from worthless, it has many purposes. If you are confused, read the info on the site. You ask "What good does it do to see your score if you can't see what is creating (or hindering) that score?" More often than not, you can see what is improving your score. As for hindering your score, sometimes you can see that on this site also, often it might be changes you have made. If you read the site info you can learn the different ways you can affect your score, both positive and negative, often things you might not have realized. You can check this daily, I have mine sent to my email monthly, that way if there is a big change that doesn't make sense, I could immediately check my credit report to see the problem, perhaps wrong reporting, perhaps identity theft. Relying just on obtaining your free credit reports, you would only be aware of this every 4 months, assuming you spread them out evenly. For those working at establishing or reestablishing their credit, this site can guide one to the best choices. You should give it a chance, at the very least you should remove your comment.

I appreciate everyone's input regarding this and other sites but don't be mislead into thinking that just because a company has a good rating with the BBB that it is a good company. The BBB is bought and paid for. Anyone can buy a good standing with the BBB.

This website appears safe from what research I have done, and am now signed up and using the tools provided. I am always aware that the web is a dangerous place, and that just connecting is risky, but with proper knowledge, training, and all due vigilance, the web can be a useful tool. Check out this site and see for yourself. As for MeanGenius who posted a comment here - I'm not sure how you concluded that your social was stolen... the site only uses the last four of your social - you can't even add any of the other digits of your social. The site can, and will access your whole social, otherwise they cannot get your credit score for you, but that's only if they can verify your information - you claim they couldn't. Not sure why you are freaking out. Might want to calm down and remember that WOT is used to rate a site's safety so that others can use it without fear. WOT is not here for you to spread information that is based on nothing more than your own lack of knowledge. If you feel the providers of this site/service wronged you, you should rate it accordingly. However, to claim that a well known site is a scam while submitting no evidence to support your claim - especially a site that has been verified by the BBB, is just plain stupid. If you want to worry, that's your right. Just don't spread your badly supported opinion here, please.
