I've found the free version of DAZ 4 to be extremely helpful for creating reference material for artwork. Initially saving the files and running the program was quite frustrating. But after browsing the forums and videos- and getting a prompt response from the support staff- I found the site and the site and free program to be quite useful!

Their server-problems continue, even after the relaunch in dec 2011. I haven't seen such a lousy QoS in the last 15 years. Tried 8 times to dl some free stuff and it stopped in the middle. What a waste of time! Don't pay for their software, unless you can be sure they provide the necessary support on their servers. They have severe problems providing files larger than 30MB in size. Otherwise you could end like me: Trying some times to dl DAZ Studio 4 without success, wasting around 5 hours and some Euro transmission cost without anything in return. Even the Bryce dl freezes although it was hosted on cnet.com!!!

Software ist sehr Bedienerfreudlich. Aber man kann nicht beim Stöckchen anfangen zu bauen! Das Modellieren Ist mehr ein Umbauen!!!

A++!!! I use DAZ Studio (their free 3D model media presentation program, for both Mac and Windows) quite frequently. I just got Poser, from another site, so I've not used DS as much lately, but it's a very fine program. They also make "Bryce", a 3D program that is very popular and is known for it's reliability. Bryce files are one of the most common 3D file formats. When you purchase something, you can download it again at any time (if you chose to download it, and not have it shipped to you or the like) without being charged again to do so, so long as you look for it in your purchase history, which can be found on your user page. The site offers free stuff, too, but they have a vast and varied shop. You must be a user on the site to get anything out of it. Never had a problem with it. Something you download for free today might stop being free at any time, but as long as you followed the checkout process (looks like you're purchasing something, but you're not actually paying anything when it's a free item - basically, you pay $0.00), you can request renewal from your user page (See description of repeated downloading of purchased items above) and download that item for free again. In my case, I've done that a lot, since I had all my stuff on a computer that ended up breaking and I can't get anything from the hard drive anymore{But that was because it fell from the desk and hit the hard ground below... Never mind that. Back to the review}. There's also an archive of things they've had as free items in the past, if you know where to look. I'd tell you, but what fun would that be? Overall, I've got no real complaints.
