This is the official site to the Better Business Burea in the US and is not affiliated with the government whatsoever. This site appears to actively block queries on its site from non-US based users, giving out a "403 - forbidden" message. This is poor customer service and a demonstration of security issues on their end.

I had prior positive experience and knowledge from the BBB when requested background information on "MYSTERY SHOPPERS" and the results and positive comments from the WOT site are on target with The BBB in my opinion. Both web sites are very helpful and appear to be dedicated to serve the public.

BAD BAD NEWS THESE CONTRACTORS, DID 2 HOMES FOR ME, THE FIRST ONE SORT BAD, I GAVE HIM A SECOND CHANCE ON MY NEW HOME AND I WISH I HAD NOT , THE WORST CONTRACTORS ON THE JOB ON MY NEW HOME, NEVER CAME BACK TO FINISH AFTER BEING PAID IN FULL " BEFORE FINAL" AS HE DEMANDED. THEN I BEGGED HIM 10 TIMES TO BACK AND FINISH, NOPE, HE SAID HE WOULD SHOW UP EVERY WEEK AFTER 10 WEEKS I HAD ENOUGH, REPORTED HIM TO BBB, LOCAL AND STATE ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENTS OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA. DON'T HIRE THIS SO CALLED HONEST COMPANY!!!! BAD NEWS, YOU'LL BE SORRY.

People need to know that the BBB is NOT a government agency. It is more of a business consortium that sometimes resorts to strongarm tactics to get businesses to join. Also, I slightly marked it down because it immediately pesters users to allow cookies if we have them toggled off. I would say my bottom line is it isn't a bad organization. It can do some good out there- but it isn't what the general public assumes it to be.

Website itself is safe and poses no harm, however it got very interesting ratings on some very well known companies. Giving A+ to very well known publisher Electronic Arts. Which was nominated, if not mistaken 2 or 3(?) times for the worst company award.(refer to: ***** ) This comment is not based solely on one single "A+" and "F-" ratings that i don't agree with, please refer to examples: #1 http://www.bbb.org/losangelessiliconvalley/business-reviews/internet-services/imvu-in-mountain-view-ca-225868 and #2 http://www.bbb.org/western-washington/business-reviews/computer-software-publishers-and-developers/valve-corporation-in-bellevue-wa-27030704 TLDR: Their ratings are unreasonable.

The FTC needs to investigate the BBB!!! After trying to use the BBB to try to resolve issues with Vontage this company is extremely unfair! I had to contact BBB to figure out how to respond as I wanted clarification of what Vontage was going to doing in my case. They failed to allow me enough time to respond and when I told them this they refused to reopen the case! My issues were not all resolved and they did a lousy job! That is just unethical practice to not allow each side enough time and an equal amount of time to respond! The BBB has gone down hill and is not as good as it has been in the past! I did notice when I did a search on the internet I was not the only one which has encountered this poor, unethical, illegal, tactics that the BBB now stands for! I did notice that while looking at a business which they pay the BBB for it's accreditation this company (Atlanticus Services Corporation) with an extremely amount of complaints also known as Cumpucredit was taken to court by the FTC and no mention of this was on their overview where it states: Government Actions BBB knows of no significant government actions involving Atlanticus Services Corporation. Feds accuse CompuCredit of deceiving customers To find this court case ***** also on this same company: Federal Trade Commission, Plaintiff, v. CompuCredit Corporation and Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC, Defendants ***** BBB is No Good Now for helping the public as I have found out! By the way I did rate it but it refuses to count it here at WOT! It keeps coming up that I did not rate it when I have! Do a Google search! Others who have had the same issues that I have, you will see that I am not alone!
