EMD - Sites engaged in malware distribution
This classification is assigned to website's engaged in the distribution of malware (e.g. adware, spyware, trojans and viruses etc).
All the tools provided worked for a long time - and still do - but they've been added various malware and adware programs and are therefore no longer trustworthy.
All the download links are only provided via javascript and are therefore not automatically detected by 3rd party malware-scanners, because they cannot run Javascript and scan those links.
All download links lead to the fake and malware-sending website: filehippodownload.com, which is FAKE and NOT the real ***** website.
*****
When downloading a certain program that allows one to alter the standard Windows 7 Start orb, Norton picked up, quarantined, and purged several suspiciously named .exe files. None of these files were the file I was actually attempting to download, which I eventually acquired (and thoroughly scanned afterwards) via the 'Direct Download (.ZIP)' link at the bottom of the auto-download page. Judging by the other ratings and by the popularity of the site, not sure if false positives or something sneaky and sinister.
