These guys will call you out of the blue claiming to be Microsoft and get you to believe that they are receiving errors from malware on your computer. They'll walk you through launching your event viewer and claiming that perfectly legitimate errors and warnings are due to viruses on you system. They will then try to sell you a "service plan" which is never honored from what I have read. I didn't let them get that far.

On Tuesday April 22nd 2014 at 4:45 p.m., I received a phone call from an unidentified source: with an Eastern accent telling me that my computer had a virus. He reported to be from Microsoft. After talking with him for about 5 minutes he directed me to the reported website to download Teamviewer type application in time to take over my computer. The website and question seems to be used for many of these scams in central Pennsylvania but possibly farther. Fortunately I lost no money through this scam, but other than the area have. The number that was called from was reported as unidentified. I recommend blocking the site to prevent further skin from taking place.
