Good site, I don't agree with some of what is said but the website itself (excluding blogs and comments) is non-partisan and has the safety of children and women as a priority.

This is a website for a kid-focused TV watchdog or activist. Sometimes they use explicit language to make their point for censorship for shows, especially those that kids may be watching. It also has the opinion supporting censorship of some TV shows to exclude suggestive or explicit content, so it is controversial.

***** While I disagree with the amount of influence this organization wants to have on our freedom of speech, this website has no adware, spyware, or viruses of any kind and is safe to visit.

Pushing censorship onto the public despite widespread advances in parental controls among television providers. They ignore that they can block things from their children and instead are pressing for it to be blocked from your children as well.
Helpful
Denies the atrocities attributed to the Catholic Church

This site isn't as bad as others similar to it that I've come across (One Million Moms comes to mind). They claim to be non-partisan and have a "traffic light" rating system for shows. Read the info page: http://www.parentstv.org/PTC/aboutus/main.asp and it doesn't say anything 'bout religious reasons on there, so those commenting on "using Christianity as a reason for doing this work" is false. If you don't agree with it, that's fine, but this is NOT the place to say so.

Yup just read the comments. Trying to take free speech away except on tv. Just switch the channel if you dont want to see something like South Park instead of complaining like assholes

The people complaining of censorship here are themselves trying to censor this site by giving it bad ratings so that it won't show up on people's browsers. The purpose of WOT is not support a particular ideology. It's to help people avoid malicious sites that perpetuate fraud, spread malware or contain material that is dangerous for children. Apparently some WOT raters don't agree with WOT's premise that some material is inappropriate for children, since they are trying to blacklist Parents Television Council, which does not try to censor anyone, it merely informs parents of media that is dangerous for kids, and encourages parents to keep public airwaves safe for everyone. The public airwaves are owned by the public and leased to TV and radio stations. If you want entertainment that is not accountable to the public interest, then you can find it on privately owned cable and satellite stations. PTC's site is completely free of fraud and malware and should have only the best ratings on WOT.

Sorry folks, but you don't have a right to not be offended. Change the channel.

they are a website bent solely on trying to censor art. they try to bring their propaganda and own "moral values" into other peoples way of thinking.

Right wing brain washing group. These people think their values should come before the first amendment right of others. Yes, some things on tv are not okay for the youngsters to watch. That's why there is a rating system on every show, and a parental filter installed on every dvr, and even a standalone filter sold for older tvs and local cable. They often call for the FCC (Federal Censorship Commission) to fine these networks, or get the show taken off the air. Censorship is Not American.

this site is safe of malware and junk. its a completely safe site to go to. but its information is as questionable as DARE. although they have good intention, they are extremely sensitive on the topic. to give an example with DARE, they advocate the non-use of drugs through fear factor which has been found inefficient and an inaccurate representation causing some uneducated people to overreact. PTC does the exact same thing. they use very specific cases to advocate their non-violence, non-"soft porn" stance causing the uneducated to overreact to those content. if anything, this group should be challenged to the fullest.

Helps those who care about children and about our culture to get involved with the process of making TV more family-kid friendly.. Not a thing wrong with this site.

This is a useful site for concerned parents, those people in this country who are responsible enough to want to shield their families from certain kinds of entertainment. This is a site for people who have standards, who are mature enough to know the difference between what is appropriate for their families and what is not appropriate. They focus primarily on open, broadcast networks, which are open to the public for free. They also provide guides for those concerned about cable content and movies. Those "open minded" individuals who are trying to stop the website are practicing the censorship that they condemn. They don't want an open marketplace of ideas. These phonies who scream the Constitution have no idea what the Constitution is about. They are scared children throwing a tantrum that the big bad adults are trying to take their coprophilia humor away.

This is a good trustworthy site. I've used it before. It is a community action site.

I nearly avoided the site because of the false information given by the true free speech haters. There is nothing malicious about the site. Trying to deny people the right to be informed about what they watch with a smear campaign, and doing it in the name of free speech, is pathetic.

Smear group who believes in the first amendment... just so long as no one says any 'bad words' or offends anyone else... then the first amendment doesn't count anymore. Truly responsible parents would stay away just on principle.
