Is searchqu.com Safe?

No investigations have found malware associated with this toolbar that I can find. However, it does demonstrate these characteristics: homepage hijacking, and can redirect searches from other toolbars to it's own. Whether this redirection is intentional or just a glitch from badly written software remains to be determined. Either way, a reputable company would make the homepage reset optional, and the option very clear - this toolbar doesn't. Also, it will not register itself with the operating system, and give a link in add/remove programs to remove it. removal can be problematic because of this.

Yes see they made a program that is both malicious and virus like but at the same time not technically a self replicating virus. You will probably come across two or more similar files that pretend to uninstall it, don't give up it's there and can be uninstalled.
