Is joinhoney.com Safe?

Beware of using their Checkout with Gift Card feature. If something goes wrong with the transaction, you are out the money you used to purchase the gift card through them. I used the system to purchase a Lowes card. Lowes system had an error on the order, cleared the money from the card and would not rectify the situation. Honey was of no help either.

The browser extension is NOT safe to use. Unless you don't mind having your buying history monitored and sold to third parties without your permission. Does nothing more than a Google search. I guess they figure you're too lazy to open another tab and look for a coupon/better deal to such an extent that you'll let them record all your shopping and slow your browser down. Under Windoze it is nearly impossible to uninstall. It'll "disappear" but they leave spyware registered in the registry. And when you're going to plant a review, don't be so blatant as to use someone whose broken English betrays their Easter European residence. There is no "Amazon hack" here. The only hacking is by them against your device.
