Is yha.org.uk Safe?

Excellent provider of budget accommodation in some of the nicest parts of England and Wales, suited particularly to adventurous families. Most hostels now serve hot meals as well as self-catering. Website seems very secure with its own SSL certificate for payment, and uses refreshingly few scripts. Bring your own towel. Not sure if the refund security complaint is still current, but if you want a credit to a card, /somebody/ will have access to the number,

Booking the stay was very easy, and quick, and it all went as planned. However I had to cancel my booking, according to their terms and conditions I was eligible to a 90% refund... Only thing is that to claim this you HAVE to send a form with your name, address and credit card details written down in plain text. You can't get it at a branch, you can't get it online you have to write down valuable information and send it in the post and just hope that nobody from the post office, or their staff - will steal it. Apparently this is "the only system they have in place" - unacceptable, I'm sorry but it isn't 1995 any more!
